Description Solar water heating is the conversion of sunlight into renewable energy for water heating using a solar thermal collector. Solar heating panels are most often part of a water heater, but they can also warm air as part of a home heating system.
Advantages
  • Does not emit any greenhouse gases
  • Can be extremely cost effective in suitable environments
  • Many governments have incentives for installation
Disadvantages
  • Sensitive to environmental conditions
  • High upfront cost
  • Diminishing lifetime performance
